LOCAL is a new film and social media channel promoting locally-based alternatives to the global consumer culture and the power of thinking -- and acting locally, as well as a community-funding platform to back local projects around the globe.

LOCAL hopes to turn such stories into tools which can help shape other neighborhoods and cities around the world. We believe that through stories we can help synthesize these communities into a global network, with people working together to move forward and create the appropriate change in our world . The profiled stories are not just feel-good tales about recycling incentives and solar gardens (although we love those) – they revolve around transforming entire communities from the bottom up, through design and through visionary participants. Many of the films will focus on food justice and new forms of urbanism with interviews with environmental thought leaders, adding a personal touch to the work profiled.
